Salt Lake’s HA-75 illegal structure demolished as per High Court order

The upper portion of the HA-75 building in Salt Lake is being demolished following a High Court directive declaring it illegal. Bidhannagar Police deployed a large force outside the property as Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) initiated the demolition early in the morning. Officials stated that BMC vehicles transported cutters, shovels, and hammers to facilitate the process, which began at dawn and is expected to continue throughout the day.

According to sources, the property owner had been served multiple notices before the enforcement of the court order. However, after non-compliance, authorities proceeded with the demolition as per legal directives. The High Court’s decision comes amid a broader crackdown on unauthorized constructions, with officials confirming that similar actions may follow against other illegal structures in the area.

Eyewitnesses reported a heavy police presence ensuring law and order as demolition crews worked on-site. Residents gathered near the premises, observing the operation as officers maintained a strict perimeter. No official statements from the property owner or affected parties have been released yet.
